Beautiful Death
About
Muerte Bella stems from the fusion of an herbarium and the illustrations of the artist Rosie Harbottle. Six embroidery swatches and designs were developed, using diverse embroidery and beading techniques. The printing project uses manual screen printing for the design of sixteen prints using various inks, sublimation techniques, and textile fixation methods.
The dead in a dried beauty is captivated to be preserved in time. It is plucked, collected, and exhibited. Flowers are collected and kept as a treasure for their beauty. Flowers that flow in space, water, air, surfaces, transparencies, and encasements, as if they were layered and suspended.
Nature is glimpsed, gradually fading away. The boundaries between reality and fantasy blur to become a work of nature from the imagination.
